A few of us at FPCR are hoping to raise money for Samaritans as part of Couch to 5k - we are doing the Beeston Park Run on 24th of August and thought it would be great to raise some money for Samaritans (you are also welcome to come along and run too!).

Not everybody has the support network of family and friends to help them through rough times, or feels comfortable talking to them when they are struggling. Heart-breakingly, there were there were 5,821 suicides registered in the UK in 2017.  Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide. They answer a call for help every 6 seconds... 5 million calls for help every year ... but it costs around £5 per phone call.
