Story
5 weeks ago, my good friend, Susie, asked if I’d join her in running 10km in The Great Manchester Run on Sunday 22nd May. My initial thoughts were...nope! But here I am, 2 weeks away, 4 weeks of training in, looking forward to heading up north and raising some cash for Brain Tumour Research. I know the target seems random but is 10% of the cost of a day’s research at one of Brain Tumour Research’s Centres of Excellence!
Any donation will certainly help spur me on!
Some facts:
Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
We are building a network of experts in sustainable research at dedicated Centres of Excellence whilst influencing the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more nationally.
Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
