Story
**UPDATE** Good news is I'm pregnant, bad news is I can't participate in the half marathon. Luckily, Charles has agreed to step in and take my place!**
A few months ago I discovered a small, but very ambitious charity called Elephant Family. They endeavor to raise money for the protection and preservation of the endangered Asian elephant.
This summer they raised over £4 million through a large-scale art installation that featured life-sized baby Asian elephant sculptures throughout London. I was a bit obsessed with trying to view as many of the 260 sculptures as I could and even blogged about the elephants. If I had the money I would have bought one of the elephants to show my support for the charity, but sadly they were WAY out of my price range. So, I decide that I could support the charity in a different way. I signed up to be a member of the Elephant Family half marathon team!
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is on October 10, 2010 and I, along with approximately 250 team mates, will be running 13.1 miles to support and raise money for the Elephant Family charity. I've started a 12 week training program that will hopefully prepare me for the crazy task of running 13.1 miles. I would appreciate any support you can send my way, be it monetarily or emotionally or both!
