Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started running a couple of years ago as i was going on holiday and wanted to feel ok about putting on that dreaded bikini! I signed up for a 10k and instantly fell in love with running. The freedom you feel and the peace and quiet are something that i don't get often in other parts of my life. I quite quickly realised that i was happiest when i was pushing myself to run further than i had every run before so i signed up for my first half marathon..... and it was hell! I was so happy when i crossed the finished line that i cried! After a couple of weeks i started looking back thinking oh it wasnt that bad! and hmmm i could do that again, and it's just as well, as that's when i got my acceptance letter through for the London Marathon. I knew that i wanted to run it for a reason (rather than being purely selfish) and so i am very excited to be running on behalf of Prisoners Education Trust. I am so excited about taking on this challenge and can't wait for race day!

Prisoners Education Trust may not be one of the most well known chairites but the work they do is equally as important. They help people who have lost their way and want to make things better for themselves and the people they care about by giving them a chance to learn new skills through distance learning. PET also provides much needed support, advice and guidance for prisoner learners at a time its needed most. It is a worthwhile cause and one that i am proud to be running the Virgin London Marathon for.
