Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year my friend, Mike Ross, sadly took his own life. His passing and the circumstances as to how he died was a complete shock to all who knew him. Mike was always smiling, always had time for people and was the life and soul of any gathering. Outward appearances are not always what they seem. Mental health matters! I only wish Mike had talked to someone about his feelings or thoughts, put himself and his feelings first ahead of others. I wish Mind was available to him then, that he was aware of the support he could get and that he was not afraid to ask for help. I will never know or comprehend the feelings and thoughts that plagued Mike the days leading to his passing but I know I will never forget him and that I want to help anyone who feels depressed, sad, anxious, lonely or suicidal. As such I am participating in a physically gruelling 12 hour hike to raise money for Mind. The 12 hour hike is around the Yorkshire countryside near the seaside town of Whitby. It seems fitting that it be there as Mike loved the Yorkshire countryside and was proud to live in "God's Country" as he aptly named it.
I want to give back what I can in memory of Mike, for Mike, and for all those who can and will be helped by Mind.
