Action Against Hunger Sky dive · 1 November 2009

We tackle the causes of hunger today to give children a healthy tomorrow

Story

Dear Family and Friends

Action against workd round the clock to provide life saving treatment to malnourished children and their families in over 40 countries world wide. Through our programmes we use emergency interventions to prevent malnutrition. Severly malnourished children are treated through feeding programmes and ready to use theraputic foods to treat malnutrition before it becomes serious.

I will be part of a team of 30 tandem sky divers taking up this challenge to raising funds to assist Action Against Hunger to succeed in their projects to tackle Hunger and Malnutrition. Individual fundraising target is £300.

Every penny counts and you generosity will be greatly appreciated and most importantly this are the things your money can do for the impoverished communities.

o        £27 can buy a survival kit to save the life of a severely malnourished child, including therapeutic milk and nutritional products and medicine.

o        £250 can help provide fluids for 50 children suffering from cholera in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

o        £500 can buy a weeks supply of therapeutic milk, nutritional products and medicine for 50 children in a Therapeutic Feeding centre.

The Sky dive will be at the North London Parachute Centre.  Where fellow jumpers and I, will take part in British Parachute Association accredited training and jump from up to 13,000 -  all in one day!  This event will take place on the 15th November 2009.

We will exit the aircraft securely strapped to the front of an Instructor who will control the free fall element of the skydive, open the parachute for me at around 5000 feet, and then steer my parachute safely back to the landing area for a soft controlled return to earth.

I hope it will be as easy as it sounds :)))). To me, whats most satisfying about the challenge, is the results that will be achieved by the funds raised.

Thank you for your great generosity and support.
