I am fundraising for GRACE - which stands for Gynae Research and Clinincal Excellence.
Although their research is for all "womens's cancers" they are currently supporting the only womb cancer research project in the country, run by Dr Patricia Ellis at Hammersmith Hospital, London.
Around 9000 women in the UK are diagnosed with womb cancer every year. 1900 of them die. There is no official charity, and little research is conducted. It is the most common gynae cancer.
I was diagnosed with womb cancer in June 2013. There is so little information available I had never even heard of it - until I had it. It is vital that woman of all ages are educated on signs and symptoms. It is one of the most virulent forms of cancer, but can succesfully be treated if caught early enough. Thus, early diagnosis is vital, but most women, just like me and probably their GP's too, won't know what to look for.
Please help GRACE help me and women like me. 1900 women dead a year is 1900 Mums, sisters, daughters, wives, friends too many.
Help GRACE research this disease, educate women and save lives.
I survived. I set myself a target of raising one pound to represent each fighter every year that didn't make it - which with your support I achieved. My next goal is a further £500, £100 for each year of my life since diagnosis.
