We provide comfort to bereaved parents to make a devastating time a little gentler

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

During the early hours of the 4th December, we found out the heart breaking news that we'd lost our little boy Jasper at 32 weeks. Stacey would still have to give birth to our angel, and Friends of Serenity provided a room for us in the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre that kept us comfortable during a time when we just cannot explain how we felt. They also provided us with a memory box to create handprints, footprints and photos, with some books that helped our little girl understand the situation better.

We are forever grateful to them and in Jasper's memory we would like to repay them in the only way we can to help support other bereaved parents in this situation, as well as further fund for research and equipment aimed at preventing stillbirths.

Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant women and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in particular but not exclusively by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, Serenity Suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre not normally provided by the statutory authorities. We work hard to support newly bereaved parents through the provision of memory boxes and miscarriage keepsakes. By dressing their babies we hope to make distressing and devastating time a little more comforting by taking the pressure off them. These are provided in East Lancashire and throughout the country on public requirement. Additionally, we strive to provide qualified information by any means appropriate on the 2nd most common chromosome disorder Trisomy 13.
