Story

This is the third year I have participated in the North4North bike tour, and thanks to you, over the last three years the tour has raised over £100,000 for underprivileged children and young adults of Northern Israel.

This Sunday,17 riders will be departing for a five day tour through the tortuous terrain of the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee, riding between 80 and 140 km each day. For photos of last years trip, click here.

As in previous years, the North4North Bike ride is completely self-funded, where the full cost of the tour is covered by the riders, to ensure that every penny raised is passed directly to the beneficiaries.

This year we are raising money for the physical and learning disabled:

In England, for Delamere Forest School, a residential school for children with special needs.

And in Israel we are raising money for a Rehabilitation Centre on Kibbutz Matzuba part of Cochav Hatzafon  ("North Star") Association it is one of the 4 occupational rehabilitation centres that it operates across the western Galil. Established in 1999, the association provides clinical treatment, occupational rehabilitation support, psycho-social therapy, vocational training, and sheltered employment to some 120 adults with mental or physical disabilities, from all sectors of the population (men and women, Jews and non-Jews, religious and non-religious). The wide spectrum of social and enrichment activities enables handicapped individuals the skills necessary for successful integration, participation, and acceptance in their communities.
