Story
This year year to try and top last years Three Peaks Challenge, Myself and the ever willing Chris Barker are going to be canoeing 100 miles in three days along the river thames we will have to complete over Marathon distance each day to do this.
We have our support driver Andy Hall to assist us on route to speed up the transition through lock gates along the route.
This fundraiser follows on from last year’s Three Peaks Challenge, when a group of ten Central England Co-operative colleagues from Melton Mowbray raised more than £4,000 for Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children, helping to fund a hi-tech wheelchair for a teenager.
Newlife Foundation is Central England Co-operative’s charity partner. Since the partnership was launched in May 2012, Co-operative colleagues and customers have raised 397,707, which to date has helped fund 170 items of specialist disability equipment for children in the retailer’s trading area. This includes wheelchairs and walkers for mobility, specialist car seats so children can travel in safety and communication aids so they can tell their parents when they are hungry or in pain.
