Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Jason Neilson. I'm an experienced runner who wants to do something to help support my local NHS during the Pandemic. From 14th April 2020 I began running everyday round the Block from my home. Each lap of the block was 0.33 miles so for the first month I ran round the Block taking in Barcroft Street and Daubney Street. To do at least a mile each day I had to run 4 laps of the course.
On 15th May I moved to a new home with a new running course to run round the Block. Each lap is 1.2 miles long. The course starts at my flat where I run down Freeman Street to Hainton Square, along Eleanor Street to Albion Street. Down Albion Street to Kent Street then home. Only run 1 lap of the Block on "rest days".
From April 14th 2020, 3 weeks into the first Lockdown, till October 27th I ran everyday round the Block. It was a total of 198 days including October 28th when I ran round my flat in self isolation. By that point I was feeling ill, had a sore throat, tight chest and had been coughing continuously for 5 days. Had a Covid test which came back negative. Initially thought it was my Asthma however my inhalers were having no effect. Stopped running everyday till I felt better and restarted again on November 8th 2020. At the beginning of October I had managed to run a full marathon round the Block.
Due to struggling with my running after restarting my running in November my first full marathon of 2021 will be at the end of February and at the end of each month after that.
Will continue running round the block, same course everyday, till the Lockdown has been completely lifted.
On Sunday November 21st I will finish this project by running a half marathon for the Health Tree Foundation at Maravan.
Please help me to support the NHS during this crisis. Anyone wanting to contact me can contact me on twitter @grimsbywargames
