I am participating in a Police v Fire charity football game on Saturday 11 June 2022 to raise funds for The Archie Foundation.

My mascot on the day is named Josh. 

Josh and his family first became aware of The Archie Foundation when Josh’s younger brother was born prematurely and spent some time in the neonatal unit in the hospital.

In November 2020, Josh was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with bowel disease, due to the time of diagnosis being during the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no visitors allowed in to hospital whilst young Josh was in for treatment. This is when The Archie Foundation first came to the help of Josh, keeping him entertained throughout his time in the hospital by providing him with Lego sets, toys and crafts to help him through. 

Josh has since been in hospital on two further occasions and attends as a day patient every month for treatment. Unfortunately Josh spent his 10th birthday in the hospital but with the help of The Archie Foundation, the nurses at the hospital were able to give Josh a toy from the Archie toy box and decorate his room for him to make the day as special as possible for him.

Josh is very much aware of the kindness and support that The Archie Foundation has offered him over the past couple of years. It would be very much appreciated by myself, Josh and The Archie Foundation if you could please make a small donation to show support to the charity who has provided this brave young man with support throughout his time in need.
