Since 10th July I have had 4 weeks in china on business so had to take some time out from doing my challenge so I have done a few little runs as time and heat has been a big problem but will be back on track in the next week . Thank you all for your continued support
My brother Robert is celebrating his 10 year transplant anniversary this year (yes a decade!). He was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) way back in the early 1970's and after nearly losing him 10 years ago due to this degenrative disease I have decided to raise money for the CF trust.
After seeing my brothers life transform over the last 10 years from being house bound to climbing Ben Nevis 3 times and embracing life I realised that I need to stop taking mine for granted. Just over 14 months ago I decided to change my lifesytle due to putting on weight, having high cholesterol / blood pressure and not being able to run from one lamp post to another down my street I decide to take up running. Now having completed my first half marathon earlier this year I have decided to set myself a challenge of running 400 miles over 4 months aiming is to cover 23 miles a week over 17 consecutive weeks starting on the 2nd June 2012.
In the process of doing so would like to raise as much money as I can for the CF trust (www.cftrust.org.uk) for the fantastic work they do in helping improve the quality of life for people suffering from CF. The CF trust has helped my brother both directly and indirectly and I would like to say a big thank you to them by helping them raise money to carry on their vital work.
If you leave a donation and are a UK taxpayer please remember to tick the Gift Aid box. Once you donate, your money is sent directly to the charity and the Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation (i.e for every £100, and extra £25 is reclaimed). So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
