Story
Over two days I am walking 22 miles through the Peak District National Park. It just so happens that this event occurs on the weekend of my 22nd birthday - so that's one mile walked for every year!
About the charity:
The DRLAA provides a unique and extremely valuable service and is one of only two totally independent air rescue providers in the UK. The DRLAA receives no government funding and is entirely funded through the generosity of members of the public and corporate sponsors.
Along with the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire regional air ambulance, their helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles, covering many of the UK's major road networks including the M1, M6, M69 and M42. On average they attend 6 missions a day between them, with an average response time of just 13 minutes.
