I'm supporting Nerve Tumours UK because their mission means a great deal to me. My sister, India, has NF2 and has already endured a massive operation to have a tumour removed from her auditory nerve. She is now on the cusp of another major surgery and has more to endure in the future.
Nerve Tumours UK provide crucial support to people living with the Neurofibromatoses- the conditons that cause nerve tumours. They are dominant genetic conditions, which means that they can be passed on in families from one generation to the next through genetic inheritance. Similarly, about half of nerve tumours cases recorded have no previous family history of the condition. In other words, it can occur totally “out of the blue”.Please help me bolster their support.
The North Wales 50km is an ultramarathon on 29th April. It starts in Prestatyn and ends in Llandudno. My kick off is 6am and there are time cut offs for hitting each of the three aid stations. I will be running (limping/crawling/shuffling) the distance to raise funds for this cause.
