Jonna's Jump-in January

January Jump-in · 28 December 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This January I'm going to take on the North Sea armed with nothing more than a threadbare swimming costume, a flask of hot Ribena and the will to endure something unpleasant for a good cause. I aim to complete a sea swim every day of the month come hell or high water to raise money for Plastic Oceans.
I have never tried daily sea swimming, and haven't so much as paddled in January before. The sea temperature is currently hovering around 7C and will plummet during the next few weeks. My limited experience tells me this is going to be tough, but I will have moral support in the form of my husband and kids, and company from the countless other local wild swimmers here. I am committed to taking the plunge and completing the challenge, and will be so grateful for any support you can give!
Plastic Oceans is one of the country's leading marine conservation charities which involves communities, schools, businesses and individuals in the fight to reduce plastic waste. They aim to stop plastic reaching our oceans within a generation. Check out their website for more information.
