Story

In Loving Memory of my Dad, Brian Maeers.

THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!

Shockingly, Dad died of cancer December 19th 2013. Only eight weeks warning/ diagnosis. Then, my adorable Dad was gone...

Dad left one of his many beloved Morris Minors, Prudence, to me.

Prudence, Phil & I will support Macmillian as they supported us when Dad was so poorly.

Many 1920/30's Morris Minors are taking to the road between 1st April & 31st May 2015 to raise money for Macmillan. They will travel ''Around The Edge'' of England. These strong little 'Minors' are over 80 years old and, like many people, (sadly young or old), need our support, love & care ...

Please support Macmillan. Also, remember to look out for those little 'Minors' on their fund raising drives Around The Edge!

We are off to The Isle of Wight......

See below for our planned 'fund raising' tour.

QI fact: The company with the longest registered name is 'The Southampton Isle of Wight and South of England Royal Mail Steam Packet Company Limited'  trading as 'Red Funnel'

Ferry booked!  We arrive Easter Sunday 5th April, return 7th April.
From East Cowes to Ryde via Queen Victoria's Osbourne House.
Easter Monday through to Seaview, Bembridge (visiting the RNLI Lifeboat Station).
To the top of Culver Down then to Sandown, Shanklin, Bonchurch (visit Charles Dickens holiday home). Ventnor to the most Southerly point St Catherine's lighthouse.

QI fact: When the tide is in ... the Isle of Wight county is smaller than Rutland!

Then along the Military (Cliff) Road to the Needles then Alum Bay to collect coloured sands, through Totland and Yarmouth then head to Cowes, passing Cowes Harbour to the Chain Link Bridge, finally, returning to our start at East Cowes & ferry home. (in all about 76 miles).

Q. What is Black, Steams & comes out the back of Cowes ...
A. The Isle of Wight Ferry!
