Special Olympics provides all year training and the opportunity to take part in competition for people with an Intellectual Disability.  From 8th - 22nd September 2014 SOGB have a team of 50 athletes who are travelling to the European Summer Games 2014 in Antwerp, Brussels.  I am proud to have been appointed GB Head Coach for the Aquatics Team of eleven athletes and 3 coaches (we are the largest team going to the ESG2014). To coincide with my 50th Birthday I have decided to swim the 1 mile swim in the Open Water Great Swim Series at Lake Windermere and also a 5k park run on the 6th September.  SO East Herts is a branch of SOGB and was founded in 2009 by Neil Ward (Deputy Head Amwell View School). The charity club started with two clubs Swimming with Hoddesdon SC and Athletics based at Wodson Park.  SO East Herts now has twenty sports and activity clubs offering training and competition to people in the local community.
