What an amazing day we had on Saturday.  44 walkers turned out to support Home-Start and it was quite a sight to see everyone setting off in a long line across the fields on their chosen walks.  The sun beat down and a good time was had by all.  We think we will have raised over £2500, but will let you know once all the money is in and the counting has stopped.

Thomas and I will be putting on our walking boots and taking part in the Sponsored Walk on 21 May to raise much needed funds for Home-Start Royston and South Cambridgeshire.

 

The charity is based in Meldreth and recruits and trains volunteers to provide support to local families who are experiencing stress or crisis such as illness, a child's disability, family breakdown, bereavement or feelings of isolation.  It also runs weekly family groups in both Royston and Cambourne.  The service is a lifeline to many of our local families.

   

Recent cuts in County Council funding mean that we need to raise funds to be able to continue training and placing volunteers with local families.
