Story

Instead of the reeeally fun party me and my twinny Lucy had planned for our 30th (deffo didn’t think we’d still be in lockdown) I’ve decided instead to collect for Bury Cancer Support Centre.

The centre has been a huge support to our family, in particular our beautiful Mum, over the last few years and they do a truly amazing job.

Having cancer can be frightening, lonely and isolating, and that’s without a pandemic to contend with! The centre offer holistic support to families going through a cancer diagnosis. As well as counselling and talking therapy, they offer a range of amazing holistic treatments to help patients, and their families as a whole to relax, recharge and feel better able to support each other.

During the pandemic, their services have continued, offering online therapy sessions, relaxation and support with changing or delayed treatment plans due to COVID-19. They’ve even delivered weekly hot meals to those who are shielding.

They are, in short, wonderful, and have helped us so much.

If you’re not in a position to donate to them at the moment, as I know times are hard for so many, then please consider them next time you’re having a clear out. They’ve just opened a charity shop, too.
