Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Bristol 10k again this year, not bad for a 51 year old! I aim to get around in under an hour ......... 59 minutes would be good!
This year, however I am part of a team called "Run for Ella", raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
My boss Jim's niece Ella Redman died last November aged just 20. She had been suffering from bone cancer since 2011 and very sadly there was no cure. She spent over 100 nights in various hospital wards, including the Oncology Hospital in Bristol. Ella was a big part of the push for Bristol to get its own teenage cancer unit, a place that could make the worst times in some young people's lives a bit more manageable.
It was Ella's hope that other young people who experience the trauma of cancer would have their own specialist young persons oncology unit in Bristol, rather than be treated alongside much older patients which is what happened to Ella.
Any donation that you are able to give will be immensely appreciated and support on the day would be good too.
