Story
November 22 last year my wife Emily was 30 weeks pregnant with our second child, we were excited for the future and making a family of 4. However unexpectedly Emily was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour and in order to get the best care our son (Charlie) was delivered 10 weeks earlier than expected.
Both Emily and Charlie were at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where the care they were provided was second to none.
During very dark days there, SSNAP were always on hand to talk to someone, provide me with petrol money for travels, buy gifts for Jack and Charlie and were just constantly there ensuring I eat food and continue to function. The charity have been amazing to me and my family and I want to raise this money in order to pay back a little bit towards what they do.
I therefore am going to smash this challenge and not give up and make sure I raise as much money as possible.
Background to charity: SSNAP, champion the right of all sick and premature babies treated in Oxford to receive the best care. They support families seven days a week, purchase life saving equipment and enable life-changing research and training. SSNAP was founded in 1982 by Cessa Moore MBE and has supported the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital since then. Formed initially by a group of parents, who wanted to support other parents with premature and sick babies, SSNAP has continued this ethos to the present day.
