Story
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Jamie Hurst. Im 20 years old, currently studying Accounting at University.
This year I have chosen to run the Great North Run for Cancer Research.
It is infact a matter which is close to my heart. For those who know me well, not many of those know that my Dad has been undergoing treatment for a cancerous tumor within his stomach. We are now in a position of being told that after the treatment the size of the tumor hasn't in fact decreased and although there is no current major warning, his health isn't getting any better.
I am doing this run for Cancer Research, to help raise money to help fund that technology and that important research that can help people like my Dad, because without it I wouldnt have the most important person in my life with me today.
I am also dedicating this run for my beautiful Mum who passed away 2 years ago of an unsuspected haemorrage and I know if she was here today she would be along side my Dad and my family supporting us all the way.
I wouldnt want anyone to go through what I have had to endure these past 2 years. But doing this run and raising money will help families and people my age avoid such situations, with the correct care.
All I ask is please sponsor me – it’s quick, easy and totally secure. By sponsoring me you can help more people survive cancer, its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer – so please sponsor me.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
Jamie Hurst.
