Story
I've been a member of SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) for the last 5 years and have spent many hours in the cold and wet transporting blood, samples, donor breast milk and other urgent medical requirements during the night, weekends and Christmas day. Our charity is not government funded and therefore we need to raise money to allow the bikes to run 24/7. In the past we have raised money at various superstores, events and public donations online. As mentioned above, there has been many wet and cold nights when you wonder what you are doing out of bed when everybody else is asleep. Then, one Saturday afternoon at a fate, a lady with her little girl came up to me with tears running down her face and said "Thank you. Without you, my little girl may have died, when my daughter was at Northampton General Hospital she needed emergency blood and your group delivered" she grabbed my hand and again said thank you.. You then think back to all the cold nights and think, it was worth it.
So to keep the the bikes going I've agreed to put my name forward to abseil down the tallest tower in Europe. 400 feet.....Why....
Please, please give as much as possible as this is not going to be pretty and there will be tears and screams at the top and all the way down. Also it's going to be on my birthday so another reason to give.
Many thanks again for your help as you may need our help in the future.
