Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you are aware just over 2 years ago my brother Lee suffered multiple strokes at 34 years old.
Some of you may also be aware that this has changed Lee's life forever.
Lee suffered massive brain damage and is no longer independent. The right side of his body was left paralysed, he has lost his hearing in the right ear, he is now partially sighted in his right eye and he is no longer able to speak.
I have spent the last 27 months making it my mission to rehabilitate Lee and he has come on in leaps and bounds. He is now able to walk short distances unaided and he has slight movement in his right shoulder and arm.
I really don't want to focus on the negatives of our story as Lee is still alive and he is a survivor!! He makes me proud everyday to call him my brother and he is an inspiration.
So ....the reason for my Parachute Jump/Sky Dive is to raise awareness of Strokes occurring in young people.
Before this happened to Lee my knowledge was limited, I thought Strokes were only a danger to older people. How wrong was I! Strokes are a danger to people of all ages and can have devastating affects and change people's lives forever.
Different Strokes is a Charity that provides help and support for younger Stroke Survivors so Lee and I would be so grateful for any donations :-)
Thank you.
