Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So the chance has come up for me to finally do my bit for charity having spent many years being envious of all those I have sponsored doing their marathons, swimathons, races-for-life etc.
I am going to walk to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Worlds tallest free standing mountain. I am doing this to raise as much cash as possible to support the truly amazing work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. As a father to a toddler I hope I am never in a situation where I need them and I can only imagine what those families are going through.
Make-a-wish bring hope, happiness and kindness to many up and down the UK whose lives need that extra lift to get through the challenges they are faced with. Me climbing Kilimanjaro can't even be classed as a challenge when compared to heartache, upset, strain faced by these families.
Its not going to be easy: 7 days of pain, altitude sickness, little sleep and not a pasty shop in sight. Those who know me realise I'm not known for my fitness and this is a huge (fitness) undertaking by me. Training has already started and its going well (stone lighter with more to go).
So all that's left is to say thank-you for any amount you are able to donate to support Make-A-Wish. No matter how small or how large your donation will be used to really help make a huge difference, plus you get the enjoyment of knowing once I start getting sponsorship money there is no way I can turn back!
Cheers and MANY thanks,
James
