Hello all,
I’ve perhaps unwisely signed up for the marathon next April. Given the state of my body it will be pretty tough but all worthwhile. I’m running for Save the Children, needless to say I’m not articulate enough to describe what they do and the reach they have. Please have a look at their website for greater information written by someone far smarter than me. There are simply too many children suffering all across the world, some of the images we see on our TVs have become so normalised, but some of the things these children endure are horrific. It will be the 8th anniversary of the start of the war in Syria in March, we’ve all seen the devastation of the tsunami in Indonesia, it’s rather under reported but children are being separated from their families in huge numbers in Northern Myanmar. These are just a handful of the situations being supported by STC.
I’ve set a rather punchy target for myself fundraising wise, so dig as deep as you can and we can get there. Every pound donated is appreciated and will make the 2 hours and 3 min target I’ve set myself slightly easier. I’m quicker than Mo over 100m so logic suggests I should be a touch faster over the marathon.
Peace out, I’m going for a run x
