Story

3 days done. 30 miles into 4th day. Cumbria more amazing scenery!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Five Nations has become Three Nations!  200 riders have become....3!!  The ride is still going ahead.

We will still be starting in Cardiff, we will still be riding 600 miles in 6 days, we will still be covering some of the most challenging cycling terrain in the UK but we will now be finishing in Edinburgh with a wee dram of whisky!

To all those who have already sponsored me rest assured that the money will still be going to a good cause and that it will really be earned now!!  To those that have not and intend to now would be a very good time to keep me focused on completing this (now even more) difficult challenge.

As there is now no organiser to pay all this money will now go to the charity, some good has come from their selfish act...

We start on Sunday (14th August 2011) and finish on Friday (19th August 2011).

The main purpose of this trip is to raise vital sponsorship for CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading cancer charity for young people. For me personally, it is a massive challenge that I am very excited about.  With your help, I am hoping to raise over £1800, every penny of which will be going to this amazing charity.  I have already secured funding to cover the organisers' costs for me entering this event.

CLIC Sargent try to ease the emotional and financial strain on families facing the incredible challenges of cancer.

  • Young people with cancer can feel isolated and as if life is ‘on hold’.  Young people's Workers support young people, in hospital and in the community.
  • Self-catering Homes from Home offer families somewhere comfortable to stay for free, close to their child during their treatment in paediatric oncology centres around the UK.
  • Families are able to enjoy a free CLIC Sargent holiday together during breaks in treatment or when it ends.

These are just a few of the ways that CLIC Sargent supports young cancer patients and their families.  You can find out more about CLIC Sargent by visiting their website www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home
