Story

Sadly, my mum passed away at the end of October last year, after 7 gruelling months of gallbladder and liver cancer.  My mum had survived breast cancer 20 years previously, was on the verge of retirement and was looking forward to spending more time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

We had little warning and by the time we had noticed something was wrong, the cancer was too advanced.

As a family, we rallied and supported mum as best we could as the illness progressed.  I spent the weekends with mum as her health and dignity were slowly taken away.  It was gut wrenching and terribly sad.

The impact of losing mum is still raw and has left us all heartbroken.  During this time, Macmillan was there for us and still is.  So my siblings and I will be running the London Marathon, together, for charities who helped us during this time.  I'm proud to be part of the Macmillan team.

Every donation I receive, I will MATCH £ for £, whether this is £5, £20, £50 or £100. You will help me raise DOUBLE the amount of money for Macmillan cancer support, who provide specialist support and care to people affected by cancer.

Thank you so much for your support.
