Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My brother John was diagnosed with bowel cancer over 5 years ago. I remember the day he told me, which was as difficult to hear as I am sure it was as difficult to say for John.
He had intensive treatment for 5 years and had nearly beaten it when cruelly it reappeared and took him from us, which left us all devastated at this loss.
I could write so much about my beautiful brother John. He was the best big brother anyone could wish for, kind, caring, wise, clever, funny and a perfect role model.
He remained strong and maintained his dignity and sense of humour during his long and difficult battle. Although he lost his fight he would want others to keep fighting, to keep searching and to keep hoping for a cure to this dreadful disease.
I will never forget him and think about him every day. I miss him so much, but even through that pain, when I think of things that he said or did he still has the capacity to make me laugh.
Although I am tears writing this and it has taken me so long to get here, John would want this to be a message of hope and a plea to help others who find themselves confronted with this disease. There are people who will care for you, comfort you, help you through this and there are those searching for better treatment and cures, they just need our help to raise the funds to help them continue the good work they do every day.
Raising money for charity was close to my brother’s heart and he would want this to continue.
So when you remember the beautiful and most special person that John was, help the people who are there to support cancer patients and their families come to terms with the illness and that are fighting to beat it.
Thank you.
God bless you John, I love you with all my heart and soul.
Hasta luego hermano!
