Story

Update 16/01: I'd never in a million years have believed at the start of this week that I would smash my £4000 target by Friday. The catalyst for this incredible generocity may not have been most positive, but with each and every donation that continues to pour in from friends, family and strangers alike the burden lifts a little, and the parents would be so grateful to all of you. Please keep donating, this is an amazing cause which will make a genuine difference to the lives of many. I'm truly humbled by the kind words and donations I've recieved thus far - and will have you all running with me come April.

Big love, James x

Hello friends!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page... And hopefully donating to this worthwhile charity.

As some of you may know, my old man had a massive stroke in January 2004 that we as a family were totally unprepared for... But thanks to the unbelievable amount of time and care my incredible mama provided we were able to remain a close and happy family until he passed away at home in November 2012.

Sadly on 13th January 2015, mum passed away in a freak and tragic car accident while on her way to visit a friend. She was incredibly touched by the donations I'd recieved to date, and just the night before had called to say she'd organised a village pub quiz to help raise funds for this amazing cause.

I've decided to raise money for the Stroke Association because they provide invaluable funding and support for everyone affected by this devasting disease - be it researching prevention, caring for victims or helping families like mine.

Next year on April 12th I'll be baring my exceptionally lanky legs and attempting to run the Paris Marathon in under 4 hours.. A week later I'll be looking to do the same while running another 26.2 Miles In Manchester - before finally coming home to take on the London Marathon the week after that, but this time in a unique fancy dress ensemble in the hope of attaining a new Guinness World Record for "The Fastest Marathon Dressed As A.... (suggestions welcome)".

I apologise in advance for the inevitable progress updates along the way, but bear with me while I train and I'll buy you a pint when I'm done on April 26th.

Thanks for your help, support, kindness and most importantly... MONEY.

Big love,

James xxxx
