Story
On the 3rd September 2021 my Stepdaughter, Rosabella, celebrated her 18th birthday in true style of any young lady becoming an "adult".
3 weeks later, she collapsed and was rushed to hospital and later diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, or FND for short.
This is not a life threatening illness, however it IS a life changing condition.
FND is a medical condition in which there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body sends and/or receives signals. There are many symptoms of FND, but Rosabella lost the ability to stand or walk! And she now suffers seizures, and her eyesight has been affected.
Very little is known about a cure for this condition, and this is why I am wanting to support this charity, so that with their vital research it will help others like Rosabella.
To hear her say at Christmas that her greatest achievement in life so far is to learn to walk again, the least I can do is get my ageing 48 year old body around 13.1 miles in the Reading Half Marathon!
And in return, I'm hoping you can dig deep and make a contribution to aid in the research and support that FND Action offers people like Rosabella.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
James
