On the 28th of September I will be running the Nottingham Robin Hood Marathon to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer in memory of my Mum who sadly passed away from Ovarian Cancer this year. 

Ovarian Cancer is often referred to as the 'silent killer' as symptoms generally appear when the cancer is in its advanced stage and has spread. Only 3 out of 10 women are given an early diagnosis, where 90% of women have a 5 year survival rate. However many cases are diagnosed late where 5 year survival rates drop to 20%-30%.

For this reason I want to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer in the hope that the money donated will improve screening methods so less loved ones are taken from us unexpectedly early
