Our runners will help raise awareness and money for kinship care, so that more people can get the support they need.
There are an estimated 180,000 children in the care of relatives in the UK. Kinship carers are grandparents and other relatives or family friends who step in to care for children because their parents are unable to do so.
Despite their role in helping to keep families together and children out of the care system, kinship carers are not entitled to any statutory support. As a result, many are struggling to raise children in poverty. Through our programmes and advice service, we work to give them the support they and the children in their care desperately need. Through our campaigns we fight for a fairer deal for kinship families.
With your help, we can reach more people who need us.
