Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am hoping to raise a few quid for The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in memory of my Dad, Tony.
Dad passed away whilst at The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in September 2007 following a two and a half year battle with a brain tumour. The hospice offers supportive and end of life care to patients and their families living with advanced or terminal illness. The amazing people at Phyliss Tuckwell were there for my Dad and my family at the most difficult time and whilst I have supported this organisation since 2007, I'd like to do a bit more, so here we are...
I have been a huge fan of strength sports since I was a kid, watching Worlds Strongest Man with my Dad is a really fond memory. For a number of years I have trained at an awesome facility in Basingstoke called Elite Bodyworks, allowing me to try lots of different disciplins I used to watch when I was younger. So I thought, why not try giving a few competions a go... I have entered Basingstoke's Strongest Novice VI, which will be held at Elite Bodyworks on Sunday 23rd June 2019. I'll be competing in the under 90kgs weight category and have five different events to tackle, including conans wheel and atlas stones!!
Training is currently in full swing, training at least four times a week, eating right and off the booze all to help my chances of performing to the best of my ability come 23rd June! For further motivation, I'd like to raise some money for this amazing charity. If you can and would like to make a donation, no matter how much, I'd be incredibly grateful!! Also if you fancy a laugh, come down to Elite Bodyworks (RG21 3NB) on 23rd June and watch me try and lift / carry / throw some heavy stuff about!!!
