For those that don't know, in April 2010 myself and many others lost a great friend, Bertie Brookman, at the age of 23. 

Bertie was always such a cheerful happy go lucky guy and always up for a laugh! I went to school with him for a number of years and we shared many of the same interests, namely motor sports and drinking! (Not combined may I add). He was a good friend to me and I will always remember him. 

Bertie had the Muscular Dystrophy condition Type 2I Limb Girdle, which affects the arms and legs initially, progressively having a more of an impact over time.  In April 2010 Bertie sadly passed away in hospital after catching Pneumonia.

Since 2010 many fundraising efforts have taken place as part of Bertie 23 to raise as much money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as possible and also to raise awareness of the condition. 

So this year I have decided to run the Great North Run (13th September) in his memory and to raise some more money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

I would appreciate it greatly if you could possibly spare a donation so we can keep fighting Muscular Dystrophy and eventually find a cure.
