Story
Important - your donation will not fund any costs associated with the trek - all money will go direct to Snowdrop Project
Thank you for supporting this incredible fundraiser and helping to raise essential funds for survivors and victims of human trafficking.
I first heard of The Snowdrop Project when working in the charity recruitment sector and they approached me to help build out their team. After a few hours speaking with their staff, I was horrified to learn how little support these victims are eligible for from the UK government, leading to repeat incidences of this awful crime.
The Snowdrop Project exists to prevent this cycle of abuse. The UK Government offers just 45 days support, starting from when someone has been identified as a survivor of human trafficking.
The Snowdrop Project work with victims who often have complex needs and require support and advocacy for many years in order to help them lead an independent life and to reduce the risk of re-exploitation.
Every donation will go towards supporting their clients in moving on from their past and building a great future, so thank you so much for your generosity.
Sophie’s Story
Sophie was trafficked for 6 years from the age of 13 for sexual exploitation. She is now a valued volunteer at the Snowdrop Project and is passionate about raising awareness of trafficking.
"Nobody should ever become a victim of Trafficking, I should never have been Trafficked for that many years undetected. I was not only a child but I was a child in a school. a child with a GP, a child with foster parents and Social workers, all which failed throughout 7 years to identify that I was being tricked, controlled, tortured and sold every day.
Long term support is crucial for any survivors recovery, without it you may as well not have been rescued at all.
In July 2015, I hit the jackpot! The Snowdrop Project. The first charity to provide adequate and trained long term support. Having a support worker, counsellor and supportive community has changed my life drastically."
