Yesterday (20/05/10) I had a walk with the dog up Helvallyn in the Lake District from Glen Riding via Swirral Edge to the summit in preparation for the sponsored walk combined with a 1000 judo throws on the summit planned for saturday.

A young lad who trained at my son's ju jitsui club joined the Royal Marines the other year, barely 3 weeks into his first tour of duty in Afganistan stepped on a landmine and lost both legs and an arm. The club still show great support for him and want to help him and others who have suffered the same fate.

The club is attempting to carry the judo mats up Helvallyn on saturday and whilst at the summit carry out a 1000 throws before decending again, in aid of the charity Help For Heroes.

My son aged 10 will be taking part and is looking for sponsors.
