Story

Whats the challenge?

Between Saturday 4 July and Wednesday 08 July 2015, I will be taking part in a record breaking challenge which will involve two 18-man teams breaking the world record for the longest 11 aside football match.

Why do it?

Those taking on the challenge are doing it in memory of our friend Craig Gowans, who played football professionally for Falkirk FC and died after an incident on the pitch at only 17 years old. The Craig Gowans Memorial Fund was established shortly after his death by his friends and family, to ensure that Craig's legacy lived on.

Where will my money go if I donate?

I have a fundraising target of £1,000 as does every other player taking part. So, we are aiming to raise £36,000 in total. The £36,000 will be used to fund the building of a state-of-the-art Snoezelen room in Craigs name, to be built in the new Sick Kids hospital in Little France. This will be a calming room with multi sensory equipment to provide a relaxing and stimulating space, particularly important for children with sensory impairments. This facility will make up a crucial new service for children and young people in Scotland.

Any donation, no matter what the size, is hugely appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support!
