Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So I've finally plucked up the courage to enter the London Marathon ! But why now? And why support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign? As you probably know, I turned 50 a few months ago, and wanted to do something challenging to mark the event. I've always fancied the idea of running a marathon but never found the time (or, to be honest, the inclination) to train for it. So I thought, it's now or never (although "never" came a pretty close second !), and what better year to do it than "London 2012".
So why support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign? A very good friend of mine was diagnosed with the condition and is doing all he can to meet his personal challenge. I felt it was the least I could do to show him that I'm behind him all the way, and also support the charity that does so much to help fellow sufferers. I'm lucky that the aches and pains of my marathon experience will be over a few days after the event - his, and those of fellow sufferers, will go on, as they battle with a condition that currently has no cure. So please join me in supporting such a good cause, and thanks again for taking the time to check out my page.
