Saturday was a fantastic day and we completed the challenge in 11 hours and 9 minutes. 

We climbed up to Pen Y Fan in the clouds, cycled in dry warm conditions and ended up canoeing in glorious sunshine. We encountered some difficulties, but powered through as a team.

We're taking part in the Beat the Brecons Challenge for Whizz-Kidz to give disabled children the chance to be something special ... a kid!

We're raising money for Whizz-kids! and the Travis Perkins Supply Chain Function have chosen Whizz Kidz as their corporate charity.

There are an estimated 70,000 disabled children in the who are waiting for the right wheelchair, a wheelchair that will mean they can get up to all the things that kids like to do. And that’s where Whizz-Kidz comes in. They give disabled kids the equipment, support and life skills they need to be just like any other kid. Whizz Kidz also raises awareness of the importance of mobility for disabled children along with the everyday issues that affect disabled children and their families.

Our team comprises James Dakin, Elliot Hernandez, Maciek Gowin, Laura Hooson, Mario Blasiak and Steve Ferry.

As a team, we intend to train hard for this challenge, which includes:

Hiking 16 KM along the Pen Y Fan horseshoe

Mountain biking for 35 KM along the mountainous Taf Trail

Canoeing for three hours in the Pontsticill Reservoir

All in the wilds of the Brecon Beacons, and all within 12 hours.

Your kind donation will inspire us to get out of our warm beds for the next 6 months and go out walking, cycling, and canoeing in preparation for the challenge.
