On September 19th 2011, my Dad's best mate and pretty much my uncle, Alan Fischer succumbed to Cancer. He was an inspirationally strong character and would always bring a laugh to any room. I always looked up to Al and for this reason am joining his family on a charity bike ride to the Dordogne in the south of France.

My Dad and I are setting off on July 24th to make it most of the way down to the Dordogne before rendezvousing with Al's family. We are hoping to cover 550 miles in 5 consecutive days so this should be quite a challenge even for the cycling obsessed! Therefore it would be much appreciated if you were kind enough to sponsor me towards the good cause of Cancer Research UK.
