We help people diagnosed with a brain tumour. We aim to give everyone diagnosed access to the resources that will put them back in control. We enable brain tumour patients and carers to become resilient and to utilise brain tumour support resources from all providers to their full potential.

Story

Between September 16 and 18 this year I will be joining a group of 5 who are aiming to complete the coast to coast or C2C cycle ride.  The route is 140 miles from the Cumbrian coast at Whitehaven to the North Sea coast at Sunderland.  Since finally getting round to purchasing a bike earlier this summer (!) training has been going well and despite my childrens’ conviction that I am unlikely to survive the experience, I am looking forward to the trip.  I am slightly worried about all the hills en route, as they are in short supply in the Vale of York where I have done most of my training!

I am raising money via Braintrust for the George Pickard Fellowship.  George died of a brain tumor in March 2010 and his family and friends have set up a fund to fund a research fellowship in his name at Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre at Charing Cross Hospital in London.  More details are at http://brainstrust.org.uk/little-ships/georgepickardfellowship/
