Story
Thanks everyone for all the donations.
I've uploaded a few pics for your viewing pleasure.....
This September, I will be cycling from Geneva, Switzerland to Nice in the South of France to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. While the distance is a mere 713km, I hope you agree we are doing it the hard way! The plan is to ride up at least two mountains (totalling an average of 3000m in height) each day and taking in some of the Tour de France's best, including the famous Alpe d'Huez.
A bit about the Teenage Cancer Trust.......
There's never a good time to get cancer, but for a teenager or young adult the timing seems particlularly cruel. Young people can get some of the most rare and aggressive forms of cancer. Their rapidly growing bodies work against them, enabling the cancer to grow faster. Teenage Cancer Trust are a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer through the development of specialist units in NHS hospitals, including the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Yorkhill, Glasgow and a new unit at the Western General in Edinburgh.
Alongside all of this is a medical team of teenage cancer specialists who pool knowledge to create a body of expertise that’s second to none. They’re backed up by Nurse Consultants who provide clinical care, develop research, deliver professional education and ensure that standards remain as high as possible.
I hope you agree that this is a worthwhile cause and can find the time to lend your support. Don't forget, if like me you find text donations quicker and easier, you can text "NICE99" plus the amount to 70070. Does it get any easier?
Any donations up to £500 will be matched by employer - Societe Generale - so help me squeeze every penny out of them! Thank you also to my other sponsors, cycling clothing manufacturer Endura and The Tri Centre for their invaluable support.
Thank you,
James
