I have chosen to take part in a charity event held by the organisation Great Swim. This year I am participating in Scotland's Loch Lomond 3 mile open water swim in honour of my cherished best friend Lauren.
As some of you may know, Lauren unfortunately lost her battle to Cystic Fibrosis last year whilst leaving behind a legacy of always putting others before herself, I would like to continue this on in her memory. She was a huge inspiration, completely changing my outlook on life and I am truly grateful for the years we had together.
In doing this swim I have chosen to raise funds towards a charity based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Treetop House, which is part of The Sick Children’s Trust. Treetop House gives the chance for families to spend time with their children whilst in hospital. They do this by providing essential accommodation for families with seriously ill children, allowing them to stay just minutes from their child's bed during
their treatment.
Always thinking of you little one, I’m sure you'll be chuckling away up there while I suffer yet again in those icy waters.
