August 2019 will mark the 5 year anniversary since we lost our brother and friend, Tony Brennan aka "Bones" to pancreatic cancer, aged just 36. In 2015, a year after Tony passed away 10 of his friends/family joined me on a London to Paris charity bike ride, where between us we raised over £20,000.00 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
To commemorate the 5 year anniversary since losing Bones, Me, my 2 brothers and some friends will be participating in what I class as a continuation of the 2015 London to Paris bikeride, by cycling nearly 400 miles from Paris to Geneva. Day 4 see's us take on a former Tour de France mountain pass through Col Del Faucille where we will tackle an incline of 1,200 metres, with a total elevation in excess of 13,000 feet to climb over the final day of cycling.
Pancreatic Cancer is the fifth most common cause of death from cancer in the United Kingdom, and the fourth most common in the US. The disease occurs most often in the developed world. Pancreatic Cancer typically has a very poor prognosis: after diagnosis 25% of people survive one year and only 5% live for 5 years.
Patrick Swayze, Steve Jobs and Roger Lloyd-Pack (Trigger), are amongst those taken by this terrible disease, which does not discriminate those affected.
Please assist me, my brothers and friends raise awareness and fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK, to help fund research towards early detection of this hideous disease.
Thank you.
