I'm running the TCS London Marathon 2022 for the Stroke Association!

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
On 2 October 2022, I'm running the London Marathon for #TeamStroke and all the money raised will go to improving the lives of those who have suffered from a Stroke!
After running 2 half marathons last year I thought it was only right to tackle the full one, here’s a reminder of why I’m running:
Aged 11, I was on my own with my Great Uncle Gordon when he started to have a stroke. At the time I was completely unaware of the signs of a stroke and how to respond. I'd love to raise awareness to help people act as quickly as possible if they ever find themselves in a similar situation.
Here's an easy way to remember the signs of a stroke and how to act, feel free to share it with family/friends!
F.A.S.T
Face – the face may have dropped on 1 side, the person may not be able to smile, or their mouth or eye may have drooped.
Arms – the person may not be able to lift both arms and keep them there because of weakness or numbness in 1 arm.
Speech – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all despite appearing to be awake; they may also have problems understanding what you're saying to them.
Time – it's time to dial 999 immediately if you notice any of these signs or symptoms.
All support and donations, however big or small, would be greatly appreciated and go towards such a fantastic charity. I’ll use this page to keep you all up to date with my progress on the lead up to the event!
Feel free to share this post and spread awareness!
Thanks everyone xxx
