This August, I and two friends will attempt to climb Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in honour of my late mother, Katy (who loved Africa). We hope that in climbing the mountain, we will inspire people to donate to a wonderful cause. 

Sadly, Mum passed away this summer after a hard-fought battle against an incredibly rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. This fundraiser is a testament to her resilience and stoicism over the last two years. She would have been so proud to see her story make a positive difference even after her passing. 

Mum would have also loved our charity of choice, Tom's Trust. The organisation is local to our home town of Cambridge and supports children (and their families) afflicted with brain tumours.
