Update 21/09/2018

On the 21st October 2018 2pm two teams of Jakes family and friends will lace up their boots and run onto the rugby pitch at BBOB Rugby club to play for the Jake Hood Now or Never Memorial plate.Not only is this a day to celebrate all that Jake loved, Family, friends, rugby and music its a time to remember his wishes "I dont want anyone else to go through this". Jake carefully chose Cure leukamia as a charity he would like to support for the work they do to find a cure for this awful disease through new treatments and clinical trials.

400 new diagnoses of ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) every year in the UK in children aged 0-14 years.

"Anyone can develop leukaemia at any age. Although it is more common in adults, leukaemia is the most common form of childhood cancer, with most children diagnosed under the age of 5."

We hope that you will all join us on the 21st to remember Jake and  show your support for the work Cure Leukaemia are doing to cure and achieve better survival rates for patients. More details about the day will be on the Jake Hood memorial Facebook page in the next few weeks.

2017: Paul Barker and Tim Briggs are running the Birmingham Marathon for Cure Leukaemia in memory of Jake Hood. On the same day there will be a rugby match with a team of Jake's friends and his dad and his friends forming the opposition. The game will be at BBOB RFC and kicks off at 2pm. There will be food and a disco in the evening. Please join us and show your support for Paul and Tim and the rugby teams.

In 2012 at age 16 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I had 9 months intensive Chemotherapy followed by daily Maintenance Chemo. In April 2015 I relapsed my cancer had come back. I underwent lots of intensive Chemotherapy but in August 2015 was told my Leukaemia was too aggressive and my condition was terminal.

On 23rd December 2015 Jake passed away after battling this disease for 3 years.

On the 15th October 2017 there will be a memorial game for Jake. Alongside the game 2 of Jake's' friends will be running the Birmingham marathon for Jake's' chosen charity Cure leukaemia. We are so appreciative of your continued support and commitment to continue the work Jake started in supporting Cure leukaemia as they strive to find a cure for this awful disease.
