MY LEGACY IS TO RAISE AUTISM AWARENESS
TEXT - RUNJ49 £2/£5/£10 to 70070 to donate now!
I am a parent and carer of a 9 year old autistic child and an Ambassador for the National Autistic Society. I am running a 5k legacy event in Blackpool on the 29th April 2012 (This event has changed to 22nd July in Warrington).
My target is to raise £250 (now £350 due to fantastic support) for the NAS. For those of you that know me it would have been an easy task to dye my hair any colour upon request or to carry out a wacky and wonderful challenge - but running 5k (or even walking it) will be a huge personal achievement and something I'm hoping you all pay good money to see.
The NAS makes a difference to the lives of those with autism and their help and services have been invaluable to me when it comes to getting support for Aaron.
This year is the 50th anniversary for the NAS and the 2nd April is Autism Awareness day - I couldn't think of a better time to do it.
Big thanks to my co-runners Julie & Denise who are prepared to carry me across the finish line if required!!!!
Jaimie
